Technical Set At A Budget

by | Dec 20, 2025 | IEM, Reviews

As the year is coming to a close, BQEYZ decided to suprise us with one last creation to end the year strongly. The Ni (霓) is a humble set, driven by just a single dynamic driver. But with how its capable to deliver an exceptional tuning and technical experience to the listener, I was in awe for the first minutes when I got it.

***Reviewer’s Note***
Thank you to BQEYZ Team for sending these over for an honest review.

Alternatively, I also did the review in video form :

Specs :

  • 11mm Ceramic Coated Diaphragm DD
  • Impedance : 28 Ohms
  • Sensitivity : 112 dB
  • Freq. Response : 5 Hz – 40 kHz
  • Cable : 2 core 196 strand SPC w/ interchagable 3.5mm and 4.4mm jack

Unboxing and Accesories :

The accessories that the BQEYZ Ni provides are quite simple with no unnecessary extras. The metal plate holding the tips is always a welcomed touch from BQEYZ, and from my perspective, gives the product a little more refined flair.

Build and Fit

The BQEYZ Ni is made with an almost opaque black shell that allows a glance into the innards, and sealed with a nicely designed multilayer fibre artwork for the faceplate. The 2 core cable feels supple and nice to the touch.

In terms of fit, the shell is smaller than your typical shells ever so slightly, hence it would definitely be more friendly for most. For those whofelt like seal isn’t optimal, tip rolling with suitable tips will solve that issue.

How Does It Sound?

Tested on :
– HIby R6 iii (2025)
– MacBook M3 Pro
– ifi GO BAR Kensei
– Hidizs AP80 Pro Max

General Impressions :

– Balanced to Mild V-shape
– Leaning towards a slightly warm tinge, natural tonality
– Soundstage feels extremely wide for a 50USD set

Bass :

– Generally giving a quick and responsive experience
– Airy type of subbass due to the slight roll off, rumbles and diffuses well
– Lower and midbass goes quite deep in depth smooth yet resolving
– Bass guitars overall sound quite refined and have good amount of roundness
– 808s are quick but might need more decay/extension to feel more immersion for Rap and Hip-Hop
– Alternatively, on alternative pop it sounds good and snappy

Vocals :

– Clarity of vocalist is a little more hoarse, giving it a coarser, gritter texture
– Slight warm tonality here gives vocal a layer of sheen
– J-pop ( or ACG in general ) tends to have a peaky instances, and thin sounding
– Vocals might come off slightly nasally sometimes for male vocals

Mids :

– Organic, laid back, musical
– Guitars provide a realistic level of emotional recreation, velocities of the slides, picks can all be heard perfectly, giving macro and microdetails in this aspect pleasing and alluring. Best explaination I can give is that tactility is quite prevalent towards strings
– Pianos and keys have a quickness to it with good overtones
– Digital synths sound light and melodic, true to its tone

Upper-Mids and Treble :
– Quite an airy set that gives you good sparkle that does not fatigue due to the wide staging
– Percussions are on the airy side, which sometimes might come off slightly thin
– Not always but dependent on the mix – sometimes timbre of hihats might come off with a little metallic overtone at the end
– Instruments in this range tend to feel more intimate than usual, such as guitar plucks on higher octaves feels closer
– Chimes, bells, harmonics are again, very quick in transients

Technical Highlights

Dynamics
The dynamics of this set is extremely well done where the entire FR feels coherent. Other than this set having less clarity and resolution in general ( which in my mind, i was constantly comparing it with the context that it’s a 100USD IEM ), I have no complaints whatsoever.

Staging
One of the immediate attention grabbers. The Ni provides a spacious encompassment as you put it on and you definitely weren’t expecting it to be this wide. Resolution on the far ends of L and R are still discernable with no distortion or deca

Imaging and Seperation
Imaging is having a slight “blunted” presentation, which relates to the resolution and clarity. Nevertheless, its still quite good in terms of imaging
Seperation, due to the blunting – on very rare instances of very heavy tracks, it might start to sound a little claustrophobic. But 99% of the time, it’s well done.

Detail Retreival
Another highlight of this set. The Ni provides macros with quick, oprganic presentation, and the accompanying overtones complement and follow suit in the foreground, aiding in the experience.

Microdetails are also quite prevalent, giving every detail a good representation of itself. And once again, out of everything, strings are probably the best sounding.

Final Thoughts

BQEYZ is definitely ending this year strong with a set that probably will claim its rightful place towards the 50USD price bracket. When I started listening to this, I keep forgetting that I was not listening to a 100USD IEM, its only half the price!
