Packaging
Before we start, here’s a short introduction of the Earfun company;
EarFun products are mainly a wireless earbuds makers designed and developed by a Chinese company, established in 2018, with headquarters in Shenzhen, China, though they have a presence in the US (West Hollywood) for branding and sales, with manufacturing often taking place in China, offering budget-friendly, feature-rich audio gear that is sold to nearly all over the globe.
Accessories
The packaging here is pretty normal with a fun, professional that comes in a small box. Nothing over the top in regards to the packaging but it is complete with 6 pairs of silicone eartips, a short USB C to A cable, some paperworks, the case and the earphones itself.

Design
Design here is a usual straight down wearing style with a long stem that houses the internals. Fit here is superb and highly comfortable although the nozzle is on the shorter side making eartips rolling a little hard but expected from a TWS standard. The overall build is mostly plastic but it does feel robust and high quality on hand.

Now onto the technical part of the 4+. It is equipped with a custom made balanced armatures that Earfun calls the ultra light FeatherBA that delivers clean, clear and crisp highs alongside a 10mm dynamic driver to an authoritative, deep lows. They have implemented a new innovation named NSAA or Innovative Nano Sided Architecture that places the driver in a new kind of optimal, first of its kind, position to deliver the best audio quality from their drivers.

The Air Pro 4+ has Auracast implemented for easy navigation of local broadcasts and many private audio sharing purposes. QuietSmart adaptive hybrid noise cancellation is also present to give an up to a whopping 50dB isolation. Fitted with Qualcomm latest QCC3091 with Bluetooth 6.0 that has the Snapdragon Sound with aptX-Lossless, next-gen LE Audio, LC3 and also LDAC gives a balance between smart power management alongside a true HiRes sound for the discerning listeners. 3 modes are available where the usual noise cancelling with or without AI, ambient and normal mode. The noise cancellation is truly superb and probably one of the better ones that I have tried. Ambient noise isn’t perfect but usable for dialogues or listening while wearing the earphones.

The technical part doesn’t stop there as Earfun has also placed a total of 6 enhanced microphones with AI algorithm with cVc 8.0 tech for top notch clarity for calls. The 4+ also has the Google Fast Pair function allowing Bluetooth devices to quickly establish pairing.
Latency here is also improved by providing less than 50ms in Ultra Low Latency Mode for better viewing experience and precise gaming usage. There is also an in ear detection feature where it will pause the music once the earphones are removed.

They have a total of 54 hour playtime where each charge gives the earphones 12 hours of play time plus an extra 42 Hour with the charging case. The charging case is made from plastic as well with the LED strip at the front while the multifunctional button at the bottom near the USB C port. The earphones inserts smoothly and snapped in with magnets.

Another selling point is the personalization of the earphones with the EarFun Audio app that is honestly highly configurable from the touch functions, type of playing mode, codec selection, equalizers, noise canceling functions, AI translation options and many many more. The firmware updates are also done here and the app is smooth with a highly responsive, user friendly build that showcases their maturity in this segment.

The Air Pro 4+ also has an all new multi device connectivity that enables users to connect the earphones to separate devices. They are IP55 water and dust resistant with fast charging and wireless charging that gives a 10 minute charging that gives a total of 3 hours playtime. Charging them to full will take approximately 45 minutes.

Tone and Presentation
The tone of the Air Pro 4+ has a surprising balanced, neutral warm sound that is highly musical. They have a rather balanced tone that has full details and clarity across the whole spectrum and being a hybrid setup, the dynamic range here is superb with great extensions on both ends giving an airy, open sound presentation. Compression here is actually quite minimal and there isn’t any major lost present especially with LDAC and aptX-Lossless.
Noise Controls
The noise canceling works really well but it does sacrifice some air and clarity marginally. Preferentially, I do prefer the normal mode when I want music quality emphasized and the noise canceling for long travels. Ambient sound works decently but it does sound noisy as the microphones are sensitive. The gaming mode works well and reduces the latency quite significantly but bluetooth range is affected marginally.
Soundstage
The soundstage of the Air Pro 4+ is decent but not their main strength. The width is good with a rather average height with sufficient headroom to prevent it from being too closed in causing boxy feels. Spatial positioning here is great and very accurate as sound directions are easily distinguished making them a good candidate for gaming. Their slightly intimate soundstage does possess great immersion and this makes it a good pair of TWS for movies as well.
Separation and Timbre
Separation on the Air Pro 4+ is great and has a good dynamic range typical of a hybrid setup, reproducing sound in a true stereo fashion. The imaging here is great and every layer in music is presented without any major congestion. Cohesion here is average and some distance can be audible from the bass to the midrange but marginally and given the hybrid setup, it’s actually decent. Timbre is best described as rich, slightly warm and breathy with a touch of colouration producing a smooth, enjoyable sound that has great accuracy.
The Bass (Low)
Bass of the Air Pro 4+ is a mildly boosted bass with a slight mid bass bump, emphasising on quality rather than quantity and that gives an impactful yet clean bass without overpowering the other frequencies. The amount here can be said to be just right for being present and this bass amount surely isn’t for bassheads or users who want a dominant bass response. Pace is fairly quick with a clean, tight slam that has a slow roll off, giving a lingering extension with a good amount of air. Details and clarity here are superb with a textured bass that has no bloat or bleed. Sub-bass amount is average but has the presence with a deep reach alongside a decent rumble that blends well with the whole low region without gaps. The overall bass excels in transparency as it does not alter much on the naturalness of the music played while possessing a vivid presentation that has their energy and impact.
The Mids
The midrange the Air Pro 4+ present here is a neutral to warm mids that has a mild thickness with a warmish midrange that is smooth and accurate. The midrange doesn’t have a recessed type of mids, instead, having a mild forward sound that possesses a free field type of sound that projects sound straight to your ears giving an intimate, focused sound presentation that is lively. On the other hand, the space here is average but not congested. Macro details are superb alongside average micro details and clarity here is great with a typical high resolution sound from a balanced armature driver. There is some coloration present that gives a vivid sound signature but it does take away some transparency but in a small way as they overall midrange still perform rather accurately. The upper midrange peak is there but isn’t as aggressive of a climb and that gives a smooth transition to the high range while having a decent amount of brilliance. Vocals sounded balanced with a lively and deep presentation suiting male and female vocals alike. Same goes to instrumentals and they perform great especially with strings and woodwinds but not so much on percussions.
The Highs
The high end in the Air Pro 4+ has a well balanced, neutral flat signature that is smooth, inoffensive while still having the perks of a balanced armature driver. The high range amount is rather balanced and isn’t too laid-back as they possess a good amount of sparkle that is lively with a mild crispness. The timbre here is surprisingly natural with little to no metallic balanced armature timbre, instead they are breathy, light and agile. Details here are good with every high note presented in a clear manner and details are full. The high range actually balances by being smooth yet present, preventing them from being too laid-back or too spicy. Sibilance here is almost non-existent and they are free from harshness. Treble is a touch toned down in intensity and that gives a smooth, slightly relaxed sound signature while having a good amount of clarity.
Comparisons
VS FiiO FW5
The FiiO flagship TWS , the FW5, is highly regarded for their amazing sound and equipped with AKM’s AK4332 DAC, they are considered one of the best sounding TWS in this price bracket. Being equipped with dual Knowles RAD balanced armatures and a single dynamic driver, they are housed in a plastic shell with metal faceplates with a circular shape. Though having superb overall sound, they do lack features like the ones on the Air Pro 4+ like noise canceling, AI translation, advanced microphones, programmable buttons and the battery life of the Air Pro 4+ lasts twice as long. The FW5 do cost almost twice the asking price but possibly due to their Knowles RAD drivers that is rather costly.
The High region on the Air Pro 4+ has a more relaxed treble that is smoother but lacks bite. Details on the FW5 are better but clarity is on par with each other. Extension on the FW5 is better with more air. Timbre on the Air Pro 4+ is better and less metallic.
Midrange on the FW5 is thicker and lusher with better details especially micro details.. Air Pro 4+ has a more neutral mids that is slightly cleaner with a more intimate presentation. Vocals on the FW5 are more pronounced with better balance and less coloration albeit still coloured. Resolution on the FW5 is better with greater transparency marginally.
Bass on the Air Pro 4+ has a more flat approach but still having a good amount of slam versus the bigger mid-bass lift on the FW5 and it sounded fuller with better extension in the sub-bass region. The Air Pro 4+ does have better details and sounded cleaner in their mid bass. Slam is tighter on the Air Pro 4+ but may lack energy compared to the FW5.
The soundstage on the FW5 is wider, deeper and taller as the soundstage of the Air Pro 4+ has a more free field, intimate style of sound.
Verdict: Sound technicalities do go to the FW5 but the value and the functionalities of the Air Pro 4+ is definitely better alongside a more lasting battery and a better companion app.
VS Samsung Buds 3
The recent release from the giant from Korea, Samsung Buds 3 is an open earbuds single dynamic driver TWS that is priced rather similar to the Air Pro 4+. Built on both are similar with plastic shells but the looks of the Air Pro 4+ is more premium. Battery life on both are similar but again, the functionalities on the Air Pro 4+ is undeniable as having the extra perks like ambient setting, more intricate AI translation, better app, vast EQ settings and more codec selections but it does lack media voice controls.
Bass on the Buds 3 has a more boosted profile but the impact is similar due to the open style of wearing of the Buds 3. Details are similar but the bass clarity on the Air Pro 4+ is clearer and cleaner with a more textured bass as well. Sub-bass on the Buds 3 do sound a tad stronger but it lacks a deep rumble like on the Air Pro 4+.
Midrange on Buds 3 has more body but details and clarity is in the Air Pro 4+ alongside a more vivid resolution while transparency is slightly better on the Buds 3. The Air Pro 4+ has a more neutral approach with a slightly brighter signature while the Buds 3 has a warmer presentation with better air and space. Details and clarity are on par with each other. Vocals on the Air Pro 4+ are luscious and more intimate while the Buds 3 has a more open type of mids.
High ranges on both of these sets are similar with smooth yet present highs and the Air Pro 4+ has better presence with more extended highs. The highs on the Buds 3 does have a more natural high but it lacks resolution, speed and bite like on the Air Pro 4+.
Soundstage on both is quite similar with decent width and height but the Buds 3 has a bigger headroom due to their open earbuds style.
Verdict: In terms of sound quality and functionalities, the Air Pro 4+ is the winner but those who want a less intrusive fit, the Buds 3 might be a better choice. Value is certainly on Earfun’s side.
Synergy
The rather neutral sound of the Air Pro 4+ do makes them an allrounder set that suits most genres out there and having a good equalization control through their app, they are highly adaptive.
Genre selections
Suits: Jazz, EDM, hip-hop, classicals, modern pop, pop, rock, metal etcetera
Not suitable: Acoustics, ACG (subjective)
Who Is It For?
Suiting a vast range of users, the Earfun Air Pro 4+ suits most casual users all the way to even casual audiophiles that want portability without sacrificing audio quality in bluetooth form alongside having all the latest functions of a flagship TWS. The price is certainly reachable for most users and the value it brings is truly spectacular. It is also suited for gaming and calls for their superb microphone array while movies for their immersive, low latency sound. For monitoring, they are not the purpose expected from TWS for their compressions and latency issues. As usage for workouts, they are great for their water resistant capabilities and with ambient settings, they are perfect for joggers and gym goers as well.
Final words
We at Audiomonsta value great sound at a reachable price, and the Earfun Air Pro 4+ delivers astonishingly well on that promise. I expected little, but the value here is remarkable. The surprisingly neutral and balanced tuning that is fairly refined enough to please even audiophiles. It’s packed with the latest high-end tech and the seamless integration with its excellent companion app shows real expertise and maturity. While there are minor notes like a leaner sound, mild timbre issues and short nozzles, they are easily overlooked. At $99 USD, the Air Pro 4+ is an undeniable value. This level of performance has me genuinely excited for what Earfun plans in 2026.
