With new brands releasing new IEMs almost on a weekly basis, one brand had me intrigued with their single dynamic releases, the Intuaura from China. Though having some hybrid products, they seem to mostly focus on tuning prowess of a single dynamic driver and to try to unlock full potential from a single dynamic driver and that coloured me intrigued. I have reached out to the Intuaura and they have been a good sport by providing us with a sample of their all new Impact which is a single dynamic driver IEM that is packed with innovative tuning which will be elaborated in this review. So how will this Intuaura Impact perform? Will they be the current breakout brand from China? We shall find out here
Here’s an introduction to Intuaura products at their official AliExpress account;

Packaging & Accessories
The packaging here is premium despite their entry status and it comes professionally packaged in a rather large rectangular box. Inside we will find a plethora of accessories like a PU leather hard case, 12 pairs of 2 types silicone eartips in 2 separate cases, an IEM head pouch, an anime card and a 3.5mm cable. Very well packaged, worthy of their asking price.

Design
The design is unique and original, although having a CIEM style body, they have a distinct design that stands out from the rest. The faceplates are CNC aluminum alloy in matte black with a rather huge, futuristic X shape vent hole with stainless steel mesh making the Impact a semi open back IEM. The rest of the body is casted from medical grade resin in semi transparent black and the finishing is good with a glossy look. The size of the shell is slightly big but they have great ergonomics and are lightweight as well suitable for an extended usage.

The Impact is driven by a single 10mm dynamic driver with an innovative dual Helmholtz Resonator that works as a dual-chamber absorption system. Utilizing HeyGears 3D printing technology, this system integrates specialized acoustic microstructures directly into the chamber interior and two of the three visible tubes inside the shell. These resonators work as highly efficient “energy traps” designed to target, absorb, and smooth out excess energy peaks at the 5kHz and 10kHz frequency bands. Intuaura claims that this removes harshness giving a smooth, soft, and rich analog-like sonic experience.

The nozzles are medium sized with the maximum width nearly 6mm but the stem seems a little long and having no stopper at the base making eartips rolling a tad difficult. They are fitted with a stainless steel mesh to prevent moisture and dust entering.

The Impact has a standard slightly recessed type of 0.78mm connection that is similar to Moondrop’s IEM but not as deep and still usable on flush type of 0.78mm cables.

The back vent is a rather large X shaped hole with metal mesh and another vent is situated near the 0.78mm. No driver flex is present which usually indicates a well vented product.
The cable provided is a rather basic 2 core silver plated copper with metal splitter, jacks and a chin slider. They are available only in 3.5mm termination and given the asking price of the Impact, these are acceptable.

Tone and Presentation
The tone of the Intuaura Impact is a balanced, warm tone with a mild V shaped sound that is rather similar to Sony house sound but with a thicker, more forward midrange. The bass is boosted and they are big on impact like their name implies but still very well controlled as they possess no bloats or bleed. The overall sound possesses a good body and details around the whole spectrum are full alongside great clarity. Their tuning does lean towards a rich musical sound that is highly enjoyable while maintaining a high degree of technicalities. Frequency range is superb with great extensions especially at the lower region.
Soundstage
The Impact possesses a wide and tall soundstage that punch above their asking price partly due to their semi open back design. The soundstage has a spacious headroom that has no boxy feel and they are airy indeed giving a sort of diffused sound dispersion. The accuracy is great with a holographic soundstage that has a good 3D spatial positioning suitable for gaming as well. The full sound with an open soundstage does give the Impact an immersive feel that is highly enjoyable even for movies.
Separation and Timbre
Separation is great and they are a well tuned single dynamic driver that has superb cohesion with no crosstalk issues. They are able to produce a full left to right stereo sound that is full with no hollowness. Timbre here is organic, rich and breathy with a natural sound without any major unnatural, plasticky timbre although there is some minor metallic decay on the higher range.
Drivability
Rated at 19 ohms at 123 dB sensitivity, they are a little sensitive but don’t pick up noise as easily and they have a black background noise even with low quality source. The Impact aren’t a power hungry set of IEMs and a simple dongle will suffice by providing adequate loudness but they have the scalability ability when paired with higher quality source improving their dynamic range and giving a more refined sound in terms of details. They tend to work well with neutral balanced sources but not much for brighter sources as the timbre might be affected. Though having a rather revealing sound, they aren’t too picky with the file selection and works well even with streaming but higher quality, mastered tracks do give improvements marginally.
The Bass (Low)
The bass region can be said to be the dominant part of the Impact but in a small way as the bass doesn’t overpower the other frequencies. The bass has a lifted mid-bass that gives a tight, authoritative slam that is highly enjoyable and energy here is great with a slightly fast pace enabling them to keep up with busy bassy tracks. The texture is great and every bass layer is conveyed in a clean and clear manner. Details are good and they don’t have bloat issues and bleed is technically non-existent as they are a well tuned, high quality dynamic driver. The bass possess great extension and they are indeed an airy bass that is spaciously open with a slow roll off that gives a mildly lingering bass effect. Resolution here is good with a good transparent sound atypical of a dynamic driver bass response. The sub-bass is slightly lifted as well to pair with the mid-bass preventing them from being uneven. Sub-bass dives deep and the rumble is clean and solid, suitable for a wide wide range of genres. The bass here actually suits bassheads that want an authoritative bass without being too overpowering and sacrificing the overall transparency.
The Mids
Midrange has a flat neutral tone with a mild lean mildly towards the low range and a healthy amount of upper mids completing a full sounding mids. There is a dash of warmth in the mids with a thick sound that gives a lush and highly musical midrange. Details here are great with an attention more on the macro details while having decent micro details retrieval. They aren’t a pair that focuses on every minute detail in the music but their mids are tuned towards an intimate presentation while still having clean and detailed midrange that is organically natural. Resolution here is superb and probably the best part of the midrange as they are vivid with a little coloration mixed into them that gives a vibrant sound without sacrificing their transparency. That being said, tye mids here is not a clinical, sterile type that purists or critical listeners are looking for as the tuning here is more towards a jovial listening. Vocals sounded clean, full and possessed depth that suited male vocals tremendously while female vocals sounded lively with the brilliance derived from the upper mids mild peak. Instruments sounded correct with their musicalities matching drums, strings and piano well but on some certain strings like violins, there is a minor metallic tinge on the higher frequencies.
The Highs
High range here has an almost flat neutral signature that possesses no major peaks that causes fatigue and it is safe to say that the highs here are sibilant free. Though being inoffensive, the highs does manage to possess a good amount of sparkle that has a crisp decay producing a lively overall sound that gives music a good bite of energy. The pace is correct without it being sluggish and tame, managing to keep up with fast tracks with ease. Details here are decent with high nuances displayed without being muted and they do have a clean and clear overall high range. Weirdly enough, there is some minor unnatural timbre sheen similar to a planar timbre but that only happens on bright sources. Treble here is well balanced and has a good extension that gives the overall sound a good amount of clarity without being too intense. The treble amount is borderline being a little laid-back but manages to blend well with the thick, warm mids to give a smooth, inoffensive overall sound without sounding dull and the overall sound here do suit a wide range of users mainly those who are a little prone to treble sensitivity.
Comparisons
VS Hidizs MK12 Turris (179 USD)
The Turris from Hidizs is one of their latest dynamic driver IEM boasting a 91% magnesium dynamic driver that scales up very well with better source and they might be one of the best dynamic drivers of 2025. They have a usual house sound of Hidizs adhering to the Harman 2019 target and they have a thick, warm sound with a huge soundstage. They do cost around almost twice the asking price of Impact but they come with tuning nozzles and costlier magnesium based drivers. Side by side, the Turris does have the same warm, thick, lush sound but the Turris does sound sweeter and slightly fuller while the bass of the Impact has better authority.
Highs on the Impact have the upper hand in their amount with a more evident sparkle and crispness but marginally and the Turris high range that has a smoother, more laid-back treble. Details and clarity is better on the Impact but timbre on the Turris is better with no metallic hint.
Midrange on the Turris has a thicker body, warmer, intimate and has a more forward sound and the Impact manages to sound cleaner, clearer with a tad more upper mids brilliance. Details and clarity are on par with each other. Vocal balanced on the Turris has a more organic touch.
Bass on Impact has a slightly bigger presence with a more authoritative mid bass that is more energetic. Sub-bass on both dives deep but the amount of rumble on the Impact does sound slightly bigger and has a cleaner rumble. Details and clarity is similar on both of these sets but the Turris bass does sound more speaker-like.
The soundstage on both of these dynamic IEM are on par with each other with a great width and height but due to the semi open back nature of the Impact, they manage to sound airier.
Verdict: Turris has a more speaker-like, huge sound that has better timbre but the Impact has a more fun sound with their mid bass lift. Value on the Impact is certainly better.
VS Twistura Woodnote (169USD)
The Woodnote from the relatively new brand from China, Twistura, sporting a wood diaphragm dynamic driver and they are the current flagship from them and cost slightly more than the Impact. The packaging and accessories of the Woodnote does feel like a flagship product and the build is all metal with tuning nozzles. Fit here does go to the Impact with their resin CIEM style build but the shorter length of the nozzles on the Woodnote makes eartips rolling easier.
The highs of the Woodnote have the edge of having more sparkle and they are livelier while the Impact sounded smoother with a more relaxed presentation. Details and clarity on the Woodnote sounded better but in a small margin. Extension and air is better on the Impact but they do roll off faster. The treble on the Woodnote does sound a little harsher but due to the higher intensity, they have more energy and perceived clarity.
Midrange on the Impact has a thicker, warmer and more forward presentation while the Woodnote mids have more space and they are clearer. Impact have some mild coloration in their mids and the Woodnote manages to have no colour making them sound more accurate but the Impact is lusher with more intimacy. Resolution on the Impact has a more vivid sound while transparency on the Woodnote sounded more accurate. Male vocals do sound better on Impact with deeper notes while brilliance on the Woodnote is livelier.
The amount of bass on the Impact has a bigger presence due to their boosted mid bass lift and they have a more dynamic bass that extends deeper alongside a stronger sub-bass. The bass on the Woodnote sounded more accurate and they have slightly better details and clarity but lack authority.
Soundstage on the Impact sounds a tad wider but airiness seems better on the Impact due to their bigger back vents.
Synergy
The Intuaura Impact suits most neutral to warm sources and some warm sources do actually make the Impact cleaner in their mids. Warm sources like AKM or Cirrus Logic with midrange improvements play well but bright sources from some infamous Sabre hump will actually exacerbate the unnatural timbre. A simple dongle will actually suit the Impact well with ample volume and dynamics as they aren’t demanding and picky with file selection. Genres like EDM, acoustics, instruments, rock and pop will perform great while metal, hip-hop and Jpop isn’t too suited for their harsh music.
Good synergy
FiiO BTR7, Hidizs S8 Pro, Questyle M15, Time Ear BTE9 , Qudelix T71, EPZ TP35, FiiO Q15, Hiby FC6
Not so good synergy
FiiO KA5, FiiO Q7, EPZ TP30, Dunu DTC100
Who Is It For?
Suitable for – Classicals, acoustics, instrumentals, rock, metal, hip-hop, EDM, modern pop, gaming, movies
Not really suitable – ACG, monitoring, on stage usage
Final words
Intuaura has truly impressed me with this release of Impact validating my hunch that they possess the talent and enthusiasm to maximize a single dynamic driver, but executing it in this price range has exceeded even my expectations. The tuning here is masterfully executed, delivering a lush, full-bodied sound that remains relatively neutral, anchored by a tastefully boosted bass and crisp, articulate highs. It stands as a unique and competent IEM, appealing to a wide range of listeners with its inoffensive yet highly capable signature. If there’s a minor caveat, it’s in the high-range timbre, which can at times lean slightly unnatural reminiscent of certain planar drivers though this can be gently tempered when paired with a warmer source. One thing is certain, with the Impact, Intuaura is living up to its name. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
