BLON BL-03 : Sebuah ulasan dwibahasa

Sony ZX-507
RHA-DACAMP L1
Sumber bunyi: Tidal Master, Spotify dan MQA

Lagu yang diguna pakai:
1. Angel oleh Aerosmith (DSD 2.8MHz)
2. Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground oleh Alison Krauss (MQA 96kHz)
3. I’m Still Standing oleh Taron Egerton (MQA 44.1kHz)
4. Warisan Wanita Terakhir oleh Teacher’s Pet (Flac 44.1kHz)
5. Barakallahu Lakuma (Live Acoustic) oleh Maher Zain (Flac 44.1kHz)
6. The Edge oleh McCallum David (Flac 44.1kHz)
7. Fly Me To The Moon oleh Micheal Buble’ (MQA 48kHz)

Harga

Kedudukan Instruments sekeliling (Separation)

Sekian terima kasih.

Bellow is my colleague Tuan Semi-Value‘s review on BLON-03, this is his first article appearance on Audiomonsta.
Summary:
For the price the BLON-03 is a decent value buy. Its biased towards a balanced sound signature with a moderate soundstage. Earpieces fit well and is comfortable to wear. Poor to non-existent selection of compatible 3rd party cables for balanced output, with a lackluster stock cable.
Presentation and build:
Received my review pair in a burlap pouch with a set of S M L silicon ear tips. The ear pieces were light to hold and but felt solid. I did not see any gaps in the round metallic shells, so solid build quality right there. Feels like they are made of some kind of metal alloy and not plastic. Shiny silver in appearance and cool to the touch. Had the letters BL-03 L printed on the left and BLON R printed on the right, with a bass port next to it. Next to the bass ports were the nozzles. The nozzles seemed thinner than usual but had lips for tips that support it. My usual assortment of triple flange ear tips were too loose to fit, had to resort to the stock ear tips.
They came with a detachable cable with a 3.5mm jack, that had a mic on the right wire to the earpiece, with a call answer button, no volume or media controls. I did not test the mic and the call button, was only interested with the sound quality from a good source, which I will get to later. The cables were black and soft, had clear ear loops on each side with no noticeable micro phonics. It was also  4-core, with 2 cores going to each side. The connectors seem like regular 2-pins with sleeves, the ones that you would get from the likes of KZ, but are not compatible due to the rounded sockets. Would have swapped the stock cables with a pair of balanced cables, but could not identify a compatible set that would fit perfectly. Comments on the Internet seemed to be conflicted as to what would fit best. Hope there would be 3rd party custom cables from reliable sources in the future.
Fit and isolation:
The ear pieces fit into my ears perfectly. The ear loops on the cables were a little awkward as they were not touching my ear as they went over. Movement may cause the earpieces to come loose and slip out.
Due to having small earholes, I went with the S size tips. These fit well but could not sustain a seal if there were any significant movement. The seal was adequate but not perfect, you could still pick up ambient noise from your surroundings. The stock tips are not recommended for noisy surroundings.
Based on feedback from people around me, there was no noticeable sound leaks. I tend to play my songs at the lowest possible volumes , so this may differ for you if need to crank the volume all the way up to hear anything.
Sound quality:
I do not have any gear to measure FR graphs and could not find any graphs published by the manufacturer. This portion of the review is solely based on my hearing impressions through my usual sources. Prior to testing, the earphones have undergone at least 120 hours of burn-in.
I used a Shanling M5s as my source, with a variety of lossless tracks (all FLAC) that range from rock to hip hop to instrumental music. Here are the tracks that were used for my listening test:
1. Black Milk – Massive Attack
2. Dissolved Girl – Massive Attack
3. Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now – Starship

Treble:
The treble seems to have a slightly higher presence compared to the bass. Thus it tends to add more emphasis on the higher frequencies, sounding a little crisp. There is no sparkle though, you won’t find it anywhere near to a TRN v80. These should go fine with your ears, even if you are treble sensitive. No piercing spikes or sibilance were heard throughout the listening tests. Comfortable for long periods of listening.
Mids:
The mids were pretty neutral and clean. Did not notice any muddiness or intrusion from the bass. The presence of vocals, both male and female, sounded pretty equal with no emphasis over one or the other.
Bass:
The bass was adequate and did represent the actual quantity as expected from the tracks evaluated. However, if you are a bass head or are expecting some thump from your tracks, this is not for you. You are better off with an I-Into i8 if bass quantity is what you are looking for. There were no incidents of the bass overwhelming the mids or treble.
Soundstage:
The soundstage was pretty moderate or average. You could clearly pick out the instruments that were being played and the presence of the vocals in each track. Imaging was decent as well.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a decent pair of balanced/neutral earphones in the RM125-150 range these seem like something worth considering. Even if you are treble sensitive, these should do fine. If you are looking for an extra oomph in the bass, look elsewhere. Besides sound preferences, the other point to consider is the availability of 3rd party accessories like replacement cables. The stock cable provided is horrendous. You may want to audition these to see if they fit you perfectly before dropping any cash for them. There aren’t any real options for the cables, so you’d be stuck with them for a while.
For BL-03 it is a 3.5 star for me!
3.5 out of 5 stars (3.5 / 5)
